Conference "NGOs versus Regulators"

On February 26th, 2015, the University of Zurich (Department of Banking and Finance, URPP Financial Market Regulation, University Center for Quantitative Finance and Sustainability) and ETH Zurich (Center of Economic Research) jointly hold a one day conference in Zurich.

This public conference will examine the relative roles of NGOs and Regulators regarding environmental and financial risks.

The morning session will be dedicated to three academic presentations on the conference topic, including a (60 min) keynote address by Prof. David Baron, and two complementary (45 min) talks:
Prof. Dr. David Baron (Stanford University)
Dr. Julien Daubanes (ETH Zurich)
Prof. Dr. Bard Harstad (University of Oslo)

In the afternoon, there will be five general interest presentations (30 min each) by the following speakers:
Thierry Philipponnat, (Member of the Board of "Autorité des Marchés Financiers", the French financial markets regulator, and Founder of Finance Watch)
Prof. Dr. Reto Knutti (ETH Zurich)
Florian Kasser (Greenpeace)
Florian Brunner (Swiss Energy Foundation)
Prof. Dr. Anton Gunzinger (ETH Zurich and Super Computing Systems)

The conference will close with a panel discussion chaired by Prof. Dr. Jean-Charles Rochet between all the afternoon presenters and the audience.

A cocktail reception will conclude the event, and a dinner will follow (only upon invitation). Attendance of the conference is free of charge.
