SDC Platinum TM

In particular, DBF bought part of the SDC Platinum TM, which is a sub database from Thomson Reuters and which is the industry standard for information on new issues, M&A, syndicated loans, private equity, project finance, poison pills, and more. SDC Platinum is backed by an international team of expert analysts. The part bought by DBF includes data from 1978 (very reliable since 1982) until today minus 6 month. SDC Platinum provides users with a robust database for analyzing investment banking and deal trends, identifying comparable deals, monitoring deal activity, and generating industry-leading league tables and market-share analysis. DBF only bought part of the SDC Platinum. This part includes:

Worldwide mergers, acquisitions and alliances: covers approximately 672,000 global M&As from 1985 to the present.

Global issues: historical and on-going coverage of more than 119,000 global equity offerings and 550,000 global bond offerings.

Worldwide syndicated loans: coverage spans more than 142,000 transactions and hundreds of data elements.

Poison Pills.

The access to SDC Platinum is restricted to a terminal located in the office of the semester assistants at Plattenstrasse 14 and restricted to IBF employees and students who write their bachelor or master theses with an IBF chair.

The access is only available if someone from IBF is also on the spot (for instance, the responsible assistant in case of a master or bachelor thesis is with the student who writes the thesis).
