  • UZH wins CFA Institute Swiss Research Challenge

    CFA Challenge Triple!

     

    At the 2011-2012 CFA Institute Swiss Research Challenge Award Ceremony, the student team of the University of Zurich was awareded first place for the third consecutive time; the University of Zurich team not only won the price for the best overall performance, but also was awarded first price for the best investment report. For the challenge, University student-teams (on master level) were asked to value and pitch an investment report for a Swiss small-/ mid-cap firm. Awards were presented for best presentation, the best report and the best overall score.

     

    The challenge was held for the third time this year with 21 teams of seven Universities (Fribourg, Geneva, Lausanne, Lugano, Neuchâtel, St. Gallen and Zurich) participating. Having won the inner-University Challenge in Zurich as part of the UZH Banking & Finance Seminar "CFA Investment Challenge", the group of Zurich students, Philipp Dillinger, Stefan Grossmann, Dino Lüssi, Marco Müller and Jan Schöps, was able to excel also in the Swiss Final where they competed against the six top teams of the other partcipating Universities. The UZH team will now represent Switzerland at the European Final of the Challenge which will be held in March in London.

     

    We wish the UZH team the best of luck in London and hope that the finance skillset obtained at UZH will enable them to do equally well on a European level!
